This is a friendly reminder how important it is to keep yourself healthy through movement this winter and we believe Yoga and Pilates are a great way to improve your overall health, heal aches and pains, and keep sickness at bay.

It is well known that exercise, at any level, releases endorphins, which create feelings of happiness and euphoria. With the darker days, it is essential for you to keep moving to keep the good mood and happiness all around. Studies have shown that exercise can even alleviate symptoms among the clinically depressed.

Yoga and Pilates brings awareness of your breath. It also encourages you to relax, slow your breathing, and focus on the present. Thus it shifts the balance from the sympathetic nervous system (or the fight-or-flight response) to the parasympathetic nervous system. It may not seem like a big deal, but making this shift will reduce stress. It won’t stop your problems (sorry about that), but it will help how you respond to them.

Think about this: you are feeling happier, less stressed and breathing more. It is a ‘no-brainer’ you will feel better about yourself and the way you look. Regardless of your weight, size, gender, or age, Yoga and Pilates can quickly elevate your perception of your attractiveness, that is, self-worth. How’s that for feeling the self-love?

A nice Yoga and Pilates class will improve your creativity for 2 hours afterwards. With your heart pumping and the blood circulating, you might want to grab pen and paper straight after a class.
