We’re here to help you enjoy your pregnancy

Just because you’re pregnant, doesn’t mean you have to put up with back ache, pelvic girdle pain or other pregnancy-related problems. We’re here to help you enjoy your pregnancy and make you as comfortable as possible during those 9 months!

Our Physios are specially trained in hands-on treatment therapies to help with your injury or pain.

You will undergo an assessment at the first session where we will identify the cause of your pain and discuss with you the best treatment options.

You may be able to get financial assistance from ACC or your insurer.

We can help you with:

  • Pain and limited movement in your lower back or pelvis
  • Safe and effective exercise during and after pregnancy
  • Core stability training
  • Headaches and neck tension
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Over-use injuries from repetitive lifting
  • Incontinence
  • Any other injuries during your pregnancy
  • Pregnancy support belts

Acupuncture is a safe and effective modality during pregnancy that helps with pain relief and encouraging blood flow and nutrients into the injured area.

Studies have shown acupuncture to be effective for stress, morning sickness, hip and low back pain, breech position, mild to moderate depression, labor induction, and shortening the length of labor.

Pilates may be beneficial for you, particularly if you have poor core stability or are suffering from lumbar or pelvic pain. This can help to reduce the tension in your muscles by strengthening and toning them whilst maintaining flexibility.

Our instructors will focus on improving posture and alignment so that your body is in the optimum position to take any strain. We teach you how you can use your muscles to support your back and bump, how to avoid developing problems with your tummy muscles separating and how to get your flat tummy back postnatally.

We offer 1:1 sessions or our pre and post natal classes are small, to provide you with some individual attention with the instructor during the class, in order to achieve optimal results.

Studies indicate that massage therapy performed during pregnancy can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, and improve labor outcomes and newborn health.

Edema, or swelling of the joints during pregnancy, is often caused by reduced circulation and increased pressure on the major blood vessels by the heavy uterus. Massage helps to stimulate soft tissues to reduce collection of fluids in swollen joints, which also improves the removal of tissue waste, carried by the body’s lymph system.

Sciatic nerve pain is experienced by many women in late pregnancy as the uterus rests on muscles of the pelvic floor and lower back. The pressure of the uterus spreads tension to the muscles of the upper and lower leg, causing them to swell and put pressure on nearby nerves. Massage therapy addresses the inflamed nerves by helping to release the tension on nearby muscles. Many women have experienced significant reduction

Designed to support your bump and lower back during pregnancy, using a maternity belt or maternity band can reduce or remove pregnancy related pain and can make your entire pregnancy more comfortable.

Some say it can even reduce the number of stretch marks you get! We are also able to use Kinesiotape instead of belts, to provide support and pain relief.
