Cupping

Cupping has been a component of Chinese medicine for thousands of years and is practiced nowadays by a lot of acupuncturists and some physio’s.

It is frequently utilised as an alternative to acupuncture and can be applied to most of the same acupuncture points and meridians although some points may be too small for cupping.

It is employed in China today primarily to treat respiratory ailments such as asthma and bronchitis but is also used for arthritis, low back pain, depression, gastrointestinal problems and various types of pain in big soft tissue areas.

Sometimes cupping is used after acupuncture to further stimulate the flow of blood and qi to the area.

Facial Acupuncture

Facial Acupuncture has been practiced as a method to slow down signs of ageing in China since 960 AD. Nowadays it is a medically proven, hundred percent natural, anti-ageing treatment which reduces fine lines and wrinkles on the face and promotes a healthy and radiant glow.

Moxibustion

This can be a popular method for those fearful of acupuncture needles. A practitioner lights one end of a moxa stick (roughly the shape and size of a cigar) and holds it an inch or two away from the skin, usually around certain points on the body to bring mild warmth to the area without burning, until the skin becomes slightly red.

The intensity of the heat is adjusted according to the patient’s condition and comfort. Indirect moxa is considered to induce a gradual localized vasodilatation response and useful for the relief of pain as well as many other conditions.

In addition to increasing the local blood flow, skillful indirect moxibustion is extremely comforting and can create a deep relaxation response.

Moxibustion can be used in combination with needles and with the use of Mugwort, a dried Chinese herb with many therapeutic properties.

TDP/Infrared Heat Lamp

TDP Lamp is an abbreviation for Teding Diancibo Pu which translates to “special electromagnetic spectrum” lamp.

When the Mineral Lamp is heated to a certain temperature, it emits FIR (far infrared) energy, resulting in many therapeutic benefits.

The emitted FIR energy penetrates up to 3½ inches, and stimulates micro circulation, delivering higher levels of oxygen and nutrients to the injured cells, while eliminating toxins and cellular waste.

The TDP Lamp features a plate coated with a formulation of minerals for your body. The heated mineral plate emits deep-penetrating, far-infrared waves.
